Vivo plays host to a variety of wine-related events. We offer numerous winemaker dinners that offer the chance to dine and converse with some of New Zealand and Australia’s best winemakers, in the intimate confines of our Private Wine Library. We also offer frequent wine tastings, both formal and informal, often with the winemaker in attendance.....


 
St Clair Sauvignon Blanc Tasting - Thursday 9th February

We have Hamish Clark, Winemaker from St Clair Family Estate, dropping by VIVO before he heads back to Marlborough.

Hamish will stop by the bar from 5.30pm - 7pm and we will be opening St Clair's range of Pioneer Block Sauvignon Blanc, single vineyard wines from parcels of land around Marlborough as well as their flagship Reserve Sauvingon.

This is a great chance to understand that not all Sauvignon Blanc is the same and really changes based on the vineyard site.

This tasting is a FREE one, so come in after work bring a few friends and try some award winning Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough


The Summer of Riesling - till the end of March

This summer we have embraced "The Summer of Riesling".
The Summer of Riesling is a worldwide movement that encourages the consumption, discussion and enjoyment of Riesling.


The Summer of Riesling began at Terroir Wine Bar in the East Village of New York City in 2008 as a single-minded attempt to get guests to at least try this noble grape. Throughout the entire summer only Riesling was offered by the glass as the white wine pour. It began a revolution, which saw wine bars & restaurants highlight and feature Riesling in a myriad of ways throughout summer.


This year many bars and restaurants across NZ have banded together to promote Riesling and we are happy to say that until the end of March VIVO will have over 10 Rieslings available by the glass and will be holding several Riesling tasting in March.


So next time you’re in VIVO give Riesling a go and we can talk your ear off about the reasons we think Riesling is the world’s greatest white wine variety.

 


Mahi Dinner in the Cave – 25 February

We are very excited to be asked by Mahi Vineyard to travel down to Marlborough to cook for Mahi Wines annual "Dinner in the Cave" on the 25th of February.


Every year Mahi turn their Barrel Room, a cave under a small hill behind the winery, into a magical dining room. They ask a restaurant to travel down to the winery and cook a degustation dinner for 30 people matched with their wines.


We are very honoured to be the featured this year. There are a few spaces left so if you want a special weekend down in Marlborough in two weeks’ time, this event promises to be amazing!
